IBM Blue Horizons Corporate Family Day Melbourne
IBM approached IF Events to source a venue and manage their annual corporate Christmas family day in Melbourne. It was to cater for families of their Melbourne and Ballarat offices and required capacity for up to 4,000 children aged between 1 and 12 and their families. Children’s entertainment was required as well as food for the whole family and gifts for the children.
IF Events presented a number of location options to IBM, one of which was a unique private site on the edge of Albert Park Lake. After this was selected we managed all permits with Port Phillip Council to allow special use of the site and the provision of food vendor permits to provide food to guests on the day. Buses were arranged for those families wishing to travel in from Ballarat. Traffic management was provided on the day to cope with the volume of traffic and special access to a multi story car parking was arranged. Shade structures and indoor areas were arranged so we were ready come rain or shine to ensure everyone had a fun and memorable day.
The day was a tremendous success with approximately 3,200 children and families attending across the course of the day. Elwood Scouts performed an impressive sausage sizzle and the jacket potatoes and soft serve ice creams were a huge hit. Interactive children shows rotated throughout the day providing plenty of entertainment while Santa, face painters and balloon artists roamed the site keeping everyone amused. IBM's representatives had a stress free day and were able to leave the site early in the knowledge that everything was taken care of.
